The Tenerife composer’s passion touched the more than 4,000 people who attended the fourth Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej celebrated in Cracow last Sunday. The director of FIMUCITÉ went as a guest conductor for the word premiere of the score of the TV series “Time of Honor”. With a spectacular staging in an old tank communist factory, Navarro conducted the prestigious Ausko Orkiestra Kameralne and the Polish National Radio Choir and received one of the closest ovations of that European important event, which made him return to stage even five times.
This new success means a closer cooperation between FIMUCITÉ, whose fifth edition will be from June 27 to July 2, and the Polish Festival. This collaboration began in 2009 with the aim to strengthen this kind of events in Europe. The Cracow FMF had Joe Hisaishi, composer of the score of two recent Japanese animation masterworks, “Princess Mononoke” and “Spirited Away”, and Navarro himself, the only Spanish composer invited, as guest composers. The latest was also congratulated after the concert by the main characters of “Time of Honor”, considered to be real celebrities in their country.
The two main European film music live events continue their alliance with this exchange of guests, which has already resulted in the First International Film Music Festivals Circuit, with the vocation to enrich each other with their projects since the most known composers and experts of film music have already attended both events.
