(Los Angeles, CA)- January 17, 2013—Award-Winning Composer Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It) teams up with Award-Winning Songwriter/Executive Producer Alicia Keys (“Girl on Fire”) to score Director George Tillman Jr.’s new drama The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on January 25, 2013 at 9:45PM at Eccles Theatre. Isham previously worked with Tillman when he scored Tillman’s film Men of Honor in 2000. Inevitable tells the story of two inner-city youths who are left to fend for themselves over the summer after their mothers are taken away by the authorities.
The drama stars Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Jeffrey Wright and Anthony Mackie. Alicia Keys executive produces the film. In addition to the film’s premiere, Isham will be a featured panelist on the BMI Roundable Discussion, Music and FIlm The Creative Process Produced on Wednesdsay, January 23, 2013 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Sundance House. He will also speak on the Sundance Panel, Power of Story: Measure for Measure on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 3:00PM to 4:30PM at the Egyptian. Mark Isham has previously worked with Sundance Film Festival Founder Robert Redford, receiving an Oscar nomination for the score he created for A River Runs Through It. Isham also worked with Redford on scores for Quiz Show, Lions for Lambs, and The Conspirator. This marks Isham’s first time attending Sundance for a film he scored.

Isham is signed on with Darabondt to score six episodes of LA Noir for TNT due out in 2014. (Los Angeles, CA) November 1, 2012—Grammy and Emmy award-winning composer Mark Isham is scoring the recently picked up TNT period drama LA Noir, directed by Frank Darabont (The Green Mile) and produced by Michael De Luca (The Social Network) and Elliott Webb (Tall Time Tales). LA Noir stars Jon Berthnal (Walking Dead) as an ex-Marine turned LAPD Cop during the 1940’s & 1950’s.

by author John Buntin. Mark Isham stated, “LA Noir
is an opportunity for me to work again with one of the greatest writers/directors of our time, Frank Darabont,” whom Isham previously worked with on The Mist.
“We share a passion for the noir genre and the fabulous jazz music of that place and time. A gig like this is a dream come true for me!” For the score, Isham incorporates an authentic 1950s score with jazz influences.
Mark Isham scores ABC’s number one hit series Once Upon A Time weekly with a full orchestra, and is set to score the upcoming Jackie Robinson biopic 42, starring Harrison Ford due out April 2013. He has written critically-acclaimed scores for over 100 films including Dolphin Tale, Crash, Warrior, The Black Dahlia, October Sky, A River Runs Through It and Miracle. Isham was in Spain this summer where he was the Honorary President at the International Film Music Festival in Córdoba. During the festival, several of his scores were performed with a full orchestra, as well as the screening of the Oscar-winning film Crash. Also, as part of the festival the Grammy-winning trumpeter was also featured in a jazz concert with Carles Cases’ Band.
The following month, Mark Isham was the honorary president of the Transatlantyk Film & Music Festival in Poznan, Poland which is produced by Oscar winning composer Jan Kaczmarek. Isham performed an evening of his film themes with the Transatlantyk Orchestra and choir at the Opera House; he received a standing ovation. Isham earned a Grammy for his self title album Mark Isham and Grammy nominations for his albums Castalia and Tibet. His other accolades include an Academy Award, Emmy award, Oscar nominee, Golden Globe nominee, Grammy nominated album and the Henry Mancini award for Career Achievement.
Award winning composer Mark Isham is set to score the upcoming Jackie Robinson biopic 42. Directed and written by Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland (A Knight’s Tale), 42 stars Academy Award nominated actor Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchises) and Chadwick Boseman (The Kill Hole). 42 tells the iconic story of baseball legend Jackie Robinson (Boseman) and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey (Ford). The film will open April 12, 2013 three days before the 66th annual Jackie Robinson day, April 15— the day Robinson broke racial barriers and played his first game as a Brooklyn Dodger.
Isham’s current projects include the second season of the new ABC drama Once Upon A Time. His accolades include a Grammy, an Emmy, and a Clio, in addition to multiple Grammy, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his material both as a composer and a recording artist. Recently, he was the Honorary President of the Cordoba International Film Music Festival in Spain.
