Sony Classical and Madison Gate Records proudly announce the release of Money Monster – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring music by Dominic Lewis. The score is produced by Henry Jackman. The soundtrack will be available on CD on May 20th. The thriller Money Monster made its world premiere at the 69th Cannes Film Festival and is in theatres nationwide now.
Director of the film Jodie Foster about her work with Dominic Lewis and Henry Jackman: “Dom Lewis’s extraordinary score is the highlight ofMoney Monster, the final touch for a full cinematic experience. All the complex, emotional, modern sounds… Flights of tension mixed with real intelligence… Exciting and smart, at once masterful and completely new. What a collaboration, the best of Dom and the best of Henry. I love this score.”
About his work on Money Monster, composer Dominic Lewis says: “Working on this movie has been such a blast, and to be given free rein to push the envelope on this film was so exciting. Getting the chance to work with Jodie has been amazing, and I’m just happy I was able to be a small piece in her overall vision. The soundtrack is a melting pot of textures inspired primarily by the British electronic artists of the 90s. Jodie wanted it to sound homemade and glitchy, but have an emotional strand that really helps solidify the bond between our protagonists. So, as well as using electronics, it was important to incorporate strings to invoke emotion and really help the audience feel the emotions of the story.”
Score producer Henry Jackman, for his part, adds: “”It was a fantastic opportunity to work with Jodie and her team on this score. It was especially enjoyable because it offered the opportunity to get involved in some quirky sound elements inspired by the film’s sort of indie musical sensibility. It’s not your average project which allowed Dom & I to have a lot of fun creating a hybrid score that hopefully the audience will appreciate. “
