ROLFE KENT SCORES ‘KILLERS’

Lionsgate is releasing the Killers — Original Soundtrack, available digitally on June 1, 2010. A comedic action-packed blockbuster directed by Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, The Ugly Truth), Killers will hit theaters everywhere on June 4. The soundtrack features eight feel good hits, including “Beauty In The World” from Grammy Award® winner Macy Gray, and a whimsical original score by Rolfe Kent (Up in The Air, Sideways).

Fueled by the success of the song “I Try” Macy Gray’s debut album, 1999’s On How Life Is, earned her critical acclaim and the Best Female Pop Vocal Grammy Award. Ten years and three albums later, Gray has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Her fifth studio album, The Sellout, will be released on June 22. “Beauty In The World”, featured on both the Killers soundtrack and The Sellout, is Gray’s first new single in three years.

Composer Rolfe Kent’s original music takes you on a fun, flirty and mysterious journey from exotic locales, to the comforts of the suburbs, to the thrilling turns and twists of Killers. Kent has written music for more than thirty films including the Golden Globe® nominated score for Sideways, About Schmidt, Election, Mean Girls, Nurse Betty, Legally Blonde, Wedding Crashers, Thank You For Smoking, The Men Who Stare At Goats, and Up in the Air. In 2007, Kent received an Emmy Award® nomination for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for the Showtime series Dexter.

Trying to recover from a sudden break-up, Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl) believes she’ll never fall in love again. But on a trip to the French Riviera, Jen happens to meet the man of her dreams, the dashing, handsome Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kutcher). Three years later, she and Spencer are newlyweds living the ideal suburban life, until bullets start flying. Literally. It seems Spencer was once an international super-spy! Jen is determined to discover what other secrets he might be keeping – all the while trying to dodge bullets, keep up neighborly appearances, manage the in-laws, and work out some major trust issues.
